dc.description.abstractThe consideration of stresses due to uniform temperature variation and concrete shrinkage are essential for the design of a structure. Currently, as a way of simplifying, these efforts are not launched in the structural models of small buildings. In buildings with large dimensions in plan, the construction of concrete joints is carried out, to the detriment of the structural analysis of efforts. With the purpose of investigating the influence of temperature variation and concrete shrinkage on structural design, the present work analyzed four different buildings with the student version of the TQS computer program. From the results obtained in the program, there is an increase in the demand for steel, proportional to the size of the building, as well as the need for reinforcement even in buildings with small dimensions.
