This dissertation, linked to the Graduate Program in Public Policy and Educational Management - Professional Master's Degree, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) and INTERFACES - Grupo de Estudos em Educação, Tecnologias e Sociedade, discusses historical, political, economic, and social dimensions that involve educational issues related to teacher training in higher education in Brazil, specifically the use of communication and information technologies, considering the context of Remote Teaching (RTE) during the pandemic of Covid-19. From this emerges the problem that unfolds in the following research questions: What are the public policies that have guided teacher education in higher education during the pandemic? How do public and institutional policies contemplate the use of educational technologies in teacher education? What are the limits and potentialities of educational technologies in teaching, considering the context of remote education? How is it possible to take advantage of the experiences lived in this period by teachers to improve their future practices? Thus, it aims to investigate the use of educational technologies in Higher Education, and its unfoldings, from the context of Remote Teaching and teacher training policies. As a reference, it presents the theoretical and legal frameworks of the implementation of public policies for Higher Education and brings elements that seek to contribute to the debate about teacher training. This is a qualitative, implicit, and applied research that was carried out at the Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde - SOBRESP, with professors who operationalize the process of adherence to remote teaching. To do so, documentary research was used, supported by a literature review on the topic, in addition to the analysis of data from an institutional survey conducted with the teachers during the pandemic period. From this work originated the product that consists of a course offered to teachers on MOODLE, considering the demands presented by teachers to integrate technologies into their practices.
