dc.description.abstractAiming to create a product to be used by Formula and Baja SAE competition teams, we saw the opportunity to design an equipment capable of obtaining data and simulate the real braking of the vehicle without putting people and the prototype at risk, helping the team's knowledge for competitions. This equipment is based on an inertial dynamometer, focusing on tests using the same parameters as the real braking of a vehicle and comparing the performance of the braking system, being able to alternate system components, such as pads, discs, and lever pedal ratio. The calculations were performed considering the forces applied to one of the front wheels, having this information, flywheel, electric motor, axle and pulleys were dimensioned, and a simulation of the working axle was also performed. A 3D digital version was created and a prototype with the basic functions of the bench was developed in real size and an analysis of failure modes and their effects was performed.
