A relevância dos arquivos históricos para a (re) constituição memória social no Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

The aspects identification about the relevance of historical archives to the (re) constitution of social memory in Rio Grande do Sul is the object of study from this research. The research methods applied were bibliographic and web searches, which characterizes in qualitative research. The theoretical foundation was responsible for the description of theories that guide the understanding of the problem, among the concepts presented are Historical Archives, memory, social memory and collective memory. The results of this research provided the achievement of three specific objectives, bringing the conceptual historical elements of Rio Grande do Sul, introduced the ten oldest cities of the state and the presence of historical archives in these cities, and the literature resumption of concepts about historical archives and social memory. Through the results, conclusions were elaborate, ratifying the achievement of the objectives, recommendations and suggestions instigating new projects in this line of research, also the elaboration of Historical Archives guides in Rio Grande do Sul.
