The main objective of this work is to detail the functionality of credit unions in the country and to analyze how the operational result of these institutions reacts when aligned with the migration from physical to digital service, measuring the influence of physical service posts. For this, a panel data model is estimated with information from 883 cooperatives between 2017 and 2022 in order to measure the variables that influence the operating result of these institutions, such as the number of branches. The results indicated that the service centers of the cooperatives negatively affect the Operating Result of these institutions and the high levels of defaults in the analyzed period, presented themselves as a problem for the management of these institutions.
