dc.description.abstractThis research intends to analyze the tragedy Medea (431 BC), by Euripides (485 - 406 BC), from the perspective of the History of Emotions, seeking to observe how female anger is represented within the text. In the first part of this monograph, we will contextualize and briefly explain aspects of Greek theater and its importance in the political life of Athens in the 5th century BC. We will approach the author's biography and work, talk about the peculiarities and controversies of his life and his texts. In addition, we will highlight the specificities of our document and the bibliography produced on it. In the second part, we will introduce the theme of the History of Emotions, talk about the passions according to Aristotle and how emotions were theorized in the period in question by this philosopher. Finally, we will make notes on how female anger (orgé) was represented in our source and our conclusions from the document analysis.
