dc.description.abstractDecolonial historiography is a critical approach to the production of historical knowledge that seeks to decolonize the methods and sources used in the construction of knowledge, valuing the perspectives of subaltern peoples and questioning the imposition of a Eurocentric perspective on history. The objective of this research is to investigate the possibilities of approaching History from the perspectives of Brazilian indigenous peoples. As a methodology, the integrative literature review was adopted. The results indicated different episodes of indigenous participation in the construction of Brazilian history, especially in eighteenth-century Brazil. In more recent history, resistance to the military dictatorship and participation in the Constituent Assembly stand out. However, considering the importance of the theme for research in History, it is considered that studies on the theme are scarce, so it is important that research be carried out that addresses the history of Brazil with the indigenous people.
