Para além dos muros da instituição”: fortalecendo as medidas socioeducativas em meio aberto nas escolas de Santa Maria/RS

Abstract

This Bachelor’s Final Paper is a report of the experiential synthesis taken on by this undergraduate student during the compulsory curricular traineeship in the Social Services field, which was held at the “Centro de Defesa dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente (CEDEDICA)”, located in Santa Maria, RS, Brazil. This program lasted from from August 2017 to July 2018. Moreover, this paper also presents a historical context for legislation aimed at the rights of children and adolescents in Brazil, which places the “Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA)” in the perspective of social care towards adolescents in conflict with the law: socio-educational measures, as well as the implementation of the “Sistema de Garantia de Direitos” and the guidelines of the “Sistema Nacional de Atendimento Socioeducativo”, which are the basic documents for social education and rupture of the coercive and punitive logic. The work will also shed light on the social workers’ role in the socio-occupational space, as well as on their commitment stated on the “Código de Ética” regarding the guarantee of rights of the youth in conflict with the law, subsidized in the theoretical methodological, technical-operational and ethical-political dimensions. In this sense the work will approach the “Projeto de Intervenção”: "Beyond the walls of the institution", which was elaborated based on the strengthening and articulation between the socio-educational network of open medium with the public schools of Santa Maria / RS
