Representações do crime no diário de Santa Maria e nos comentários on-line

Abstract

This monograph has as its theme as media representations of violence and as reactions in online comments. From the culture of fear, in the Diário de Santa Maria (DSM) mode, the main newspaper of Santa Maria - RS is published as an matters of violent crimes and an online publication mode and how different reactions to crime. Therefore, an corpus was constituted from the DSM publications along with the comments on the online social network Facebook in the month of April 2017, which is approached from the critical discourse analysis. An analysis of the data revealed a coverage the newspaper privileged to convey as criminal and current occurrences in a systematic and descriptive way. In the online comments, we observe a significant level of insecurity and different reactions, even opposing, the same type of crime; a correlation between the content of the main comments with the totality of the comments of the publication; prevalence of female profiles comments, and finallyon, differences in the reactions according to the gender of those involved.
