Sistema de apoio a decisão em sistemas de transporte inteligente: uma ênfase no transporte público por ônibus

Abstract

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) are in our everyday life providing visible improvements for the whole society, from fleet tracking to forecast bus schedules. With the generation of so much information through these systems, there is a need to manage and suggest decisions for the best use of resources, be they environmental or financial. In the scope of this work, we sought to understand the concepts that involve ITS as its structure, architecture, elements and components, as well as the concepts of decision making, listing the decision-making models and the connection between the Information Technology with the decision-making process. Furthermore, a literature review is carried out analysing related works that exemplify the use of ITS in the Brazilian and worldwide context. Thereby, the main objective of this paper is to develop a module that helps in the decision making of public transport companies by bus, using Santa Maria/RS as a pilot project. Integration, usability and user acceptance tests were carried out in order to analyse the quality, functionality and acceptance of the developed module. The results of this paper can be of assistance to managers and administrators in the transport sector to adopt and understand the benefits of using and centrally viewing information in the decision-making process.
