dc.description.abstractThis bibliographic review has as porpose to understand the role of the occupational therapist in the practice of Harm Reduction (HR), promoting the expansion and knowledge about the subject as well as its benefits, and the damages that are caused by drugs. In addition to that, presenting how harm reduction is used, what are its viable strategies for improving the quality of life of those who choose to join this practice. The research seeks in a qualitative way to look for the meaning of harm reduction as well as exploratory descriptive showing its advantages. This review will be used constructively to defend a strategy of HR practice. This temporary work highlighting the wishes of the human being, considering that it is an intervention strategy that guarantees the rights of its users, and offering their quality of life, as citizens, that are respected and not stigmatized as society sees them. Altogether 10 articles were found corresponding to the theme. We conclude During the research, it is also evident that harm reduction does not support drugs, it only respects the user's will.
