Multifaces da questão social: a atuação do/da Assistente Social na defesa dos direitos dos povos indígenas na aldeia de Paranapuã – São Vicente

Abstract

O trabalho intitulado Multifaces da questão social: a atuação do/da assistente social na defesa dos direitos dos povos indígenas na Aldeia de Paranapuã – São Vicente teve por objetivo identificar e analisar as expressões da questão social e compreender o trabalho profissional da/do assistente social e sua incidência na garantia dos direitos da população indígena na aldeia de Paranapuã situada no município de São Vicente/SP. O problema de pesquisa pautou-se nas seguintes questões, como as desigualdades socioeconômicas afetam os povos indígenas? As desigualdades que afetam os povos indígenas são expressões da questão social? E como ocorre a atuação do serviço social na defesa dos direitos da população? Assim, a nossa hipótese se orientou na reflexão referente ao compromisso ético-político do/a assistente social para contribuir com o enfrentamento das violações de direitos vivenciadas pela população indígena, podendo ser este um elo entre as políticas sociais, os direitos e a população indígena, na luta contra as formas de discriminação e exploração sociais existentes. O processo metodológico se pautou pela teoria social, que parte da compreensão dos fenômenos sociais, das expressões da questão social para compor a totalidade do objeto. A metodologia da pesquisa se constituiu em processo qualitativo, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a temática, grupo focal com duas lideranças indígenas e entrevista com questões semiestruturada com a assistente social do Centro de Referência de Assistência Social, que atende os povos indígenas. Após a sistematização dos dados coletados identificamos que as expressões da questão social que afetam a vida dos indígenas são decorrentes da formação social, política, econômica e cultural do Brasil e que as lutas e resistências forjadas nesse processo pelos povos indígenas nos permitiram a compreensão dos modos de vida, a sua cultura e lutas travadas desde o processo de colonização até a atualidade. Neste movimento dinâmico e dialético se insere a Aldeia Paranapuã, como tantas outras no Brasil, enfrenta a luta pela terra, por meio da regularização fundiária, em disputas exaustivas para defender seu espaço e sua cultura de forma articulada com coletivos, profissionais e Universidades, em particular o/a assistente social que tem se apresentado como aliado na defesa intransigente dos direitos.

The work entitled Multifaces of the social question: the role of the social worker in defending the rights of indigenous peoples in Aldeia de Paranapuã – São Vicente aimed to identify and analyze the expressions of the social question and understand the professional work of the social worker and its impact on guaranteeing the rights of the indigenous population in the village of Paranapuã located in the municipality of São Vicente/SP. The research problem was based on the following questions, how do socioeconomic inequalities affect indigenous peoples? Are the inequalities that affect indigenous peoples expressions of the social issue? And how does social work work in defense of the population's rights? Thus, our hypothesis was guided by the reflection regarding the ethical-political commitment of the social worker to contribute to confronting the violations of rights experienced by the indigenous population, which may be a link between social policies, rights and the indigenous population, in the fight against existing forms of discrimination and social exploitation. The methodological process was guided by social theory, which starts from the understanding of social phenomena, from the expressions of the social question to compose the totality of the object. The research methodology consisted of a qualitative process, through bibliographical research on the subject, a focus group with two indigenous leaders and an interview with semi-structured questions with the social worker of the Social Assistance Reference Center, which serves indigenous peoples. After systematizing the collected data, we identified that the expressions of the social issue that affect the lives of indigenous peoples are due to the social, political, economic and cultural formation of Brazil and that the struggles and resistance forged in this process by indigenous peoples allowed us to understand the ways of life, its culture and struggles since the colonization process until the present day. In this dynamic and dialectical movement, Aldeia Paranapuã, like so many others in Brazil, faces the struggle for land, through land regularization, in exhaustive disputes to defend its space and its culture in articulation with collectives, professionals and Universities, in particularly the social worker who has presented himself as an ally in the uncompromising defense of rights.
