Compassos de uma comunidade de software livre na rede do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciências e Tecnologia do Sertão Pernambucano.

Abstract

Esta dissertação apresenta uma Proposta de Intervenção com o objetivo de elaborar ações podem levar ao surgimento de grupos semelhantes a comunidade Free Donkey Software Communnity-FDSC. Desta maneira, foi necessário realizar uma pesquisa, com o objetivo de verificar os elementos que levaram a fundação e funcionamento da FDSC durante estes 5 anos(2013/2018) de existência. Nesse sentido a pesquisa buscou respostas as seguintes questões: Como a comunidade surgiu? O que motiva os seus membros em participar e compartilhar conhecimento? Como ele funciona? Como foi implantada e por quem é formada? Informações estas que permitem definir possíveis ações para fundamentar a proposta interventiva. Foram utilizados como instrumentos de coleta de dados: observação participante, diário de campo, questionários e entrevistas. Com base na revisão bibliográfica e análise dos relatórios da comunidade foi possível fazer uma TimeLine da FDSC, posteriormente analisando as entrevistas com os membros da comunidade e questionários identificar as motivações para participar da FDSC, motivações para compartilhar conhecimento, contribuições da FDSC e descrever o funcionamento. Permitindo assim elaborar 3 ações interventivas, que podem levar ao surgimento de núcleos de comunidades de software livre nos demais campi, as ações são as seguintes: Ação interventiva I : “I Evento de software Livre intercamp”; Ação interventiva II: “Foro de software livre do IF Sertão-PE”; Ação interventiva III: “Grupo de trabalho para as políticas de expansão da comunidade de software livre para todos os campi”. Ações que podem levar a um caminho de surgimento dos núcleos de comunidades de software livre em toda rede o IF Sertão-PE ou em qualquer outra instituição.

ABSTRACT This dissertation presents an Intervention Proposal with the purpose of develop what actions may lead to the emergence of groups similar to the Free Donkey Software Community-FDSC community. Thus, it was necessary to carry out a research, with the objective of verifying the elements that led to the foundation and functioning of the FDSC during these 5 years (2013/2018) of existence. In this sense, the research sought answers to the following questions: How did the community come about? What motivates your members to participate and share knowledge? How does it work? How was it implemented and by whom is it formed? These information allowed to define possible actions to substantiate the intervention proposal. Data collection instruments were used: participant observation, field diary, questionnaires and interviews. Based on the bibliographic review and analysis of the community reports,it was possible to do a TimeLine of the FDSC, later analyzing the interviews and questionnaires to identify the motivations to participate in the FDSC, motivations to share knowledge, contributions of the FDSC and describe the operation, thus creating 3 intervention actions, which may lead to the emergence of free software communities in the other camps of this Institution. The actions are as follows: Intervention action I: "I Free intercamp software event"; Intervention action II: "Forum of free software of IF Sertão-PE"; Intervention action III: "Working group for policies to expand the free software community for all campuses". Actions that can lead to a path for the emergence of the nuclei of free software communities throughout the IF Sertão-PE network or any other institution.
