Medicina Veterinária.A degeneração testicular é uma das principais causas de subfertilidade e infertilidade em garanhões, ocorrendo por diversos fatores como estresse térmico, torções e traumas testiculares. Quando afeta reprodutores idosos, muitas vezes aparece sem o histórico de alguma lesão prévia nos testículos, mas sim em decorrência da senescência, sendo grande responsável por encerrar precocemente a carreira reprodutiva de animais importantes, fazendo com que sejam necessárias adaptações e o uso de algumas ferramentas para que a perda reprodutiva desses animais não venha a ocorrer. O objetivo desse trabalho foi descrever um caso degeneração testicular em um garanhão senil, assim como as técnicas de biotecnologia, manejo e nutrição que foram capazes de prolongar o uso do animal na reprodução.Testicular degeneration is one of the main causes of subfertility and infertility in stallions, occurring due to several factors such as heat stress, torsions and testicular trauma. When it affects elderly breeders, it often appears without a history of any previous injury to the testicles, but rather as a result of senescence, being largely responsible for prematurely ending the reproductive career of important animals, making adaptations and the use of some tools necessary so that the reproductive loss of these animals does not occur. The objective of this work was to describe a case of testicular degeneration in a senile stallion, as well as the biotechnology, management and nutrition techniques that were able to prolong the use of the animal in reproduction.
