The dissertation adresses the theme Women Representations in Umbanda from the analysis of the Espiritual de Umbanda Magazine, from 2003 to 2008, that is, within the publication período of the magazine. This the me is studied due to the fact that from the 20th century on, studies on women have been intensified, also in relation to religions and the teaching of history. In this way, researches that aim to analyze women in religion and the application of this know ledge in classroom be come important. Umbanda was chosen because it is an Afro-Brazilian religion that presents Candomblé heritages and in this form of belief, women were the pioneers of the religion. Thus, it seeks to analyze how the participation of women is in a religion that adopted Christian, African, Indigenous and Kardecist syncretism. For the construction of the analysis, the concepts of representation by Sergé Moscovici (2003) and Denise Jodelet (2001) were used, as well as the concept of gender by Scott (1990), dialoguing with the discussion in theteaching of History, based on reflections on the history of Umbanda, Afro-Brazilian culture and women representations.A dissertação aborda o tema das representações dos femininos na Umbanda a partir da análise da Revista Espiritual de Umbanda, no período de 2003 a 2008, ou seja, dentro do período da publicação da revista. Estuda-se este tema pelo fato de que a partir do século XX os estudos sobre as mulheres intensificaram-se, também em relação às religiões e ao ensino de história. Desta forma tornam-se importantes as pesquisas que visem analisar a mulher na religião e a aplicação desse conhecimento em sala de aula. A Umbanda foi escolhida porque é uma religião afrobrasileira que apresenta heranças do Candomblé e nesta forma de crença as mulheres foram às pioneiras da religião. Assim sendo busca-se analisar como é a participação da mulher em uma religião que adotou o sincretismo Cristão, africano, indígena e kardecista. Para a construção da análise foram utilizados os conceitos de representação de Sergé Moscovici (2003) e Denise Jodelet (2001), bem como o conceito de gênero de Scott (1990), dialogando com a discussão no ensino de História, a partir das reflexões sobre a história da Umbanda, cultura afro-brasileira e representações dos femininos.
