The purpose of this text was to identify the perceptions of managers and Physical Education teachers of public schools in Nova Mutum - MT, regarding the participation of students in projects developed from the perspective of the methodology of Programa A União Faz a Vida, in order to validate this pedagogical practice in the school environment. This qualitative and descriptive research had the participation of five public schools that accept students from the 5th grade on, a stage in which the Physical Education teacher is required. A manager of each unit and all teachers of this subject who developed projects in the triennium 2016-2018 were interviewed. The content analysis identified that the students participation was eminent, highlighting the pedagogical value of the methodology, which provides and provokes the engagement of students in the process of knowledge construction, as well as the cooperation and the connection with the reality. O objetivo do presente texto foi identificar as percepções de gestores e professores de Educação Física, das escolas públicas de Nova Mutum - MT, quanto à participação dos alunos nos projetos desenvolvidos a partir da metodologia do Programa A União Faz a Vida, com vistas a validar esta prática pedagógica em âmbito escolar. Esta pesquisa, qualitativa e descritiva, teve a participação de cinco escolas públicas que atendem alunos a partir do 5º ano, etapa na qual há a atuação do professor de Educação Física. Foram entrevistados um gestor de cada unidade e todos os professores desta disciplina que desenvolveram projetos no triênio 2016-2018. A análise de conteúdo identificou que a participação dos alunos foi eminente, evidenciando o valor pedagógico da metodologia, a qual oportuniza e provoca o engajamento dos alunos no processo de construção do conhecimento, bem como a cooperação e a conexão com a realidade.
