Se ha identificado que, de acuerdo con la din?mica de crecimiento en el n?mero de estudiantes de la Universidad de Ibagu?, sus instalaciones est?n presentando falencias en cuanto a capacidad, posibilidades de uso y adaptaci?n a nuevas tecnolog?as. Si se piensa en la construcci?n de nuevas instalaciones, se deben poner sobre la balanza dos puntos fundamentales: el costo en el que se incurrir?a y las posibles afectaciones al patrimonio arquitect?nico y los espacios de la Universidad. Por tal raz?n, en este proyecto se busca generar una propuesta para estudiar la capacidad estructural del m?dulo de Aulas Nro. I de la Universidad de Ibagu?, de una forma que se ajuste a la realidad y nos permita obtener resultados relevantes y ?tiles, partiremos del trabajo realizado por Enciso R. F. P., Escobar C. F. J., y Ortiz P. J.A. (2019), quienes desarrollaron el trabajo de grado denominado ?Evaluaci?n de vulnerabilidad sismo resistente de la edificaci?n de bloques de la Universidad de Ibagu??. Adem?s, se tendr?n en cuenta lo dispuesto en el NSR-10. Las propiedades de los materiales de los elementos constitutivos del sistema estructural se determinar?n a partir de ensayos destructivos.
