La industrializaci?n en los sectores agr?colas y las caracter?sticas fenol?gicas que han ocurrido a lo largo de los a?os en Centro del departamento del Tolima, han afectado de manera directa cualquier tipo de equilibrio que exista en esta zona, generando deterioro de las riquezas propias del suelo, subsuelo y sus agregados. Para realizar el estudio se requiere de la implementaci?n de im?genes satelitales en el ?rea mencionada anteriormente proporcionadas por el Servicio Geol?gico de los Estados Unidos (USGS), contiguo a una correcci?n atmosf?rica de las mismas por efectos de aerosoles y de radiancia intr?nseca logrando una mejor calidad visual; as? finalmente a trav?s de los Sistemas de Informaci?n Geogr?fica (SIG) aplicar la metodolog?a del ?ndice de Vegetaci?n de Diferencia Normalizada (NDVI), con el fin estimar el desarrollo, calidad y cantidad de la cobertura vegetal de la extensi?n estudiada. Entre los resultados m?s relevantes de este manuscrito, se encuentra que el cambio en la cobertura vegetal en esta zona del departamento se ve directamente influenciado por el crecimiento de las actividades agr?colas y ganaderas propias de esta regi?n en los a?os noventa (este resultado se ve m?s significativo en los municipios de Alvarado, Ambalema, Venadillo y Piedras), debido a que el departamento del Tolima es catalogado como una de las potencias agroindustriales del pa?s.Industrialization in agricultural sectors and the phenological characteristics that have occurred along years in the Center of the Tolima Department, have directly affected any type of balance that exists in this area, generating deterioration of the riches of the soil, subsoil and their aggregates. The study requires the implementation of satellite in the area from above provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), adjacent to an atmospheric correction of the effects of aerosols and radiance intrinsic to achieving better visual quality; thus finally through the Geographic Information System (GIS) program, apply the methodology of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), in order to estimate the development, quality and quantity of the plant cover of the studied extension. Among the most important results of this manuscript, is that change in the vegetation in this area of the Department, it is directly influenced by the growth of the agricultural and livestock activities in this region in the Nineties (this result is more significant in the municipalities of Alvarado, Ambalema, Venadillo and Piedras), since the Department of Tolima is listed as one of the agro-industrial powers in the country.
