RESUMEN: El presente texto, relata como la explotación minera del oro y el platino jugo un papel determinante en la construcción y delimitación del actual territorio del municipio de Medio San Juan, el cual a principios del siglo XX se vio afectado por la interacción de actores nacionales y extranjeros que agenciaron la creación del distrito minero de Andagoya donde tuvo operaciones la Compañía Minera Chocó Pacífico S.A que propicio importantes transformaciones en el espacio territorial de las comunidades asentadas en las riberas de los ríos San Juan, Condoto e Iró donde realizaban sus operaciones, hecho que ocupo un capítulo importante dentro de la historia social del Chocó.ABSTRACT: This text recounts how the mining of gold and platinum played a determining role in the construction and delimitation of the current territory of Medio San Juan municipality, which at the beginning of the 20th century was affected by the interaction of national and foreigners participants who managed the creation of the Andagoya mining district where had operations Mining Company Chocó Pacific SA which led to important transformations in the territorial space of the communities settled on the banks of the San Juan, Condoto and Iró rivers where they carried out their operations that I occupy an important chapter within the social history of Chocó.
