This article takes as its point of departure the idea that life history is not something isolated from social relations in order to discuss the pertinence of Saffioti’s theoretical construction, both in the sense of contributing to the analysis of reality and to suggest organizational paths. Its objective is to discuss the relationships between political theory and action as an interweaving of social reality. Using the method known as life history, we try to show how the works of this author contribute to our understanding of the reality of the activist’s life. In addition, we present the debates we have witnessed in various spaces of action, which are about the social relations between class/gender/race/ethnicity, particularly in our Brazilian reality. For that purpose, the revival of the core of Saffiotti seems fundamental. Finally, in order to provoke reflection, we debate the relationship between political theory and action for transforming reality.Esse artigo parte da lógica que a história de vida não é algo isolado das relações sociais, para discutir a pertinência da construção teórica de Saffioti, tanto no sentido de contribuir para a análise da realidade como para apontar caminhos organizativos. Seu objetivo é discutir a relação entre teoria e ação política como parte da arte de tecer a realidade social. A partir da técnica conhecida como história de vida, buscou-se apresentar como as obras dessa autora contribuem para a compreensão da realidade ligada à vida da militante. Em um segundo momento, buscamos apresentar debates que temos vivenciado em vários espaços de atuação, que são sobre como se dão as relações sociais entre classe/gênero/raça/etnia, em especial na nossa realidade brasileira. Para isso o resgate do nó de Saffioti nos parece fundamental. E, por último, a título de provocar a reflexão, buscou-se debater a relação teoria e ação política para transformação da realidade.
