Resumen
The Alternative Energies and Environment Group of the ESPOCH is an institution which is located in the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo province. Its main activity is the instruction on radiological protection, for this task graphic material is used that is characterized by being outdated and no interaction with the participants of the trainings. Thus, in order to solve this problem, the objective of the current thesis is to develop a three-dimensional simulation system with a web approach about the topic on radiological protection. We applied the Open UP agile development methodology for the development of the system which allowed constant communication with the work team to develop the web application through frequent meetings because the methodology requires them. At the beginning of development process, the system requirements were obtained through interviews; we also utilized 3D design tools such as Blender, SkecthUp and MakeHuman to elaborate the different 3D objects that were later integrated into three-dimensional scenes. For the integration of the objects, the Threejs library was used, which allows the creation of three-dimensional interactive spaces. The 3D scenes were integrated into HTML pages within canvas elements, using JavaScript files and style sheets, resulting in very attractive user interfaces. Once the system was finished, the quality was determined as software product applying the Software Quality Systemic Model (SQSM), a level of basic quality was obtained due to the fact that only the functionality category was highly satisfactory, instead the usability and efficiency categories were not satisfactory. It is recommended to make an improvement in the system taking into consideration the categories that were not satisfied.
