Asesoría en cuidados paliativos a cuidadores de pacientes postmastectomía

Abstract

Importancia de entorno familiar es fundamental por gran porcentaje donde cuidadores son familiares; piedra angular para abordaje integrador de pacientes con cáncer y principalmente rehabilitación de mujeres postmastectomía. Población que enfrenta secuelas de enfermedad y tratamientos recibidos que afectan calidad de vida. Presente trabajo describe investigación exploratoria con enfoque cualitativo descriptivo realizada a cuidadores de pacientes postmastectomía en cuidados paliativos, que acuden al área de Fisioterapia en Instituto Oncológico Nacional Dr. Juan Tanca Marengo, Guayaquil. Objetivo fué determinar importancia del cuidador capacitado desde óptica holística de Terapia Ocupacional, utilizando: encuesta de conocimiento, escala de carga del cuidador de Zarit, índice de estrés del cuidador. Basándonos en resultados obtenidos se efectúo taller educativo, finalmente se realizó encuesta contraste obteniendo 0% de cuidadores con conocimientos insuficientes que se reflejará en abordaje adecuado, influyendo directamente en calidad de vida del paciente.

Importance of the family environment is fundamental because a large percentage where caregivers are family members, being a cornerstone for an integrative approach to cancer patients and mainly in the rehabilitation of post-mastectomized women. This population has to deal with the sequelae of disease like received treatments that affect to life quality. The present work describes an experimental research with a descriptive qualitative approach carried out to caregivers of post mastectomy patients in palliative care, who attend the Physiotherapy area in National Oncological Institute Dr. Juan Tanca Marengo, in Guayaquil. The objective was to determine the importance of the trained caregiver from a holistic perspective of Occupational Therapy using: knowledge survey, Zarit caregiver load scale, caregiver stress index. Using results, an educational workshop was carried out, finally a survey was done concluding that there is a greater degree of knowledge in caregivers that will be reflected in an adequate approach, directly influencing in patient's life quality.
