La enfermedad renal oculta, es una enfermedad compleja de múltiples etiologías, la cual tiene como característica una tasa de filtrado Glomerular estimada (TFGe) < 60 ml/min/1,73m², con niveles de creatinina sérica que oscilan entre 0,5 mg/dL a 1,2mg/dL. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar la prevalencia de ERO a través de la fórmula CKD-EPI 2021. Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo observacional con los resultados de creatininasérica de pacientes hombres y mujeres diabéticos atendidos en la consulta externa del Hospital Básico IESS DURÁN en el periodo 2022-2023. Se identificó la presencia de ERO con la ayuda de la fórmula CKDEPI 2021 y seestadificó pacientes mediante las guías KDIGO 2012. De la población seleccionada se aplicaron los criterios de inclusión y exclusióndeterminándose una muestra no probabilística de 35 pacientes. Los resultados obtenidos mediante el análisis estadístico permitieron establecer que 23 (65.7%) pacientes de sexo femenino y 12 (34.3%) pacientes de sexo masculino presentaron ERO. Se recomienda que el hospital implemente el uso de la fórmula CKD-EPI 2021, con la finalidad de poder detectar de manera temprana un daño en la función renal mediante la estimación de la TFG.Hidden kidney disease is a complex disease of multiple etiologies, which is characterized by an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) < 60 ml/min/1.73m², with serum creatinine levels ranging from 0.5 mg/dL to 1.2 mg/dL. The present study aims to determine the prevalence of HIDDEN KIDNEY DISEASE through the CKD-EPI 2021 formula. A retrospective observational study was carried out with the serum creatinine results ofdiabetic male and female patients attended at the outpatient clinic of the BasicIESS DURÁN Hospital in the period 2022-2023. The presence of HIDDEN KIDNEY DISEASE was identified with the help of the CKD-EPI 2021 formula,and patients were classified using the KDIGO 2012 guidelines. From the selected population, inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, determining a nonprobabilistic sample of 35 patients. The results obtained through statistical analysis established that 23 (65.7%) female patients and 12 (34.3%)male patients presented HIDDEN KIDNEY DISEASE. It is recommended thatthe hospital implement the use of the CKD-EPI 2021 formula, with the purposeof being able to detect early damage in renal function through the estimation of eGFR.
