Resumen
Introducción: El dolor abdominal agudo es uno de los motivos de consulta más
frecuente dentro de las urgencias hospitalarias, las principales causas de morbilidad en
el hombre con respecto a dolor abdominal agudo según el INEC en el 2017 fueron:
apendicitis, seguido de gastroenteritis, luego hernia inguinal y por último colelitiasis, sin
embargo, la patología quirúrgica más frecuente es la colelitiasis y predomina en el sexo
femenino.
Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de abdomen agudo en pacientes de 18 a 64 años
atendidos en la emergencia del Hospital Básico Durán en el año 2019.
Métodos: El presente estudio tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental,
retrospectivo. La muestra está compuesta por 212 pacientes atendidos por abdomen
agudo en la emergencia del Hospital Básico Durán entre octubre del 2019 y septiembre
del 2019.
Resultados: Se determinó que la prevalencia de abdomen agudo es mayor en el sexo
femenino, y el tipo de abdomen agudo más frecuente es el clínico con un 89.15%.
Conclusiones: El signo clínico más frecuente fue el vómito con un 37%, la causa médica
de mayor prevalencia es el cólico renal 53%, mientras que la causa quirúrgica es la
colelitiasis aguda 52%, cuya prevalencia es mayor en el sexo femenino. Introduction: Acute abdominal pain is one of the most frequent reasons for consultation
in hospital emergencies. The main causes of morbidity in men regarding acute abdominal
pain according to the INEC in 2017 were: appendicitis followed by gastroenteritis, then
hernia Inguinal and finally cholelithiasis, however, the common surgical mass pathology
is cholelithiasis and predominates in the female sex.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of acute abdomen in patients aged 18 to 64
attended in the emergency of the Basic Hospital Durán in 2019.
Methods: The present study has a quantitative, non-experimental, retrospective
approach. The sample is made up of 212 patients treated for acute abdomen in the Basic
Hospital Durán emergency between October 2019 and September 2019.
Results: It was determined that the prevalence of acute abdomen is higher in women,
and the most frequent type of acute abdomen is clinical, with 89.15%.
Conclusions: the most frequent sign was vomiting with 37%, the most prevalent medical
cause is 53% renal colic, while the surgical cause is 52% acute cholelithiasis, the
prevalence of which is higher in women.
