dc.descriptionResumen: El suicidio y la ideación suicida constituyen un problema de salud mental que se encuentra ligado a factores psicoemocionales como la impulsividad. El presente estudio evalúa los niveles de bienestar psicológico, impulsividad e ideación suicida y analiza la relación entre las variables. Esta es una investigación básica, no experimental, de tipo cuantitativo, de alcance descriptivo y correlacional con corte transversal; Se contó con una población de 437 adolescentes de una institución educativa pública del cantón Cevallos-Tungurahua. Los instrumentos empleados fueron la Escala de Bienestar Psicológico Juvenil (BIEPSJ), Escala de Impulsividad de Barrat (BIS-11) y la Escala de Ideación Suicida de Beck (SSI). Los resultados obtenidos para las variables de impulsividad e ideación suicida reflejaron niveles bajos; mientras que en la variable bienestar psicológico los niveles encontrados fueron medios y altos. En cuanto, a las correlaciones, se identificó una correlación moderada negativa (-,408**) entre bienestar psicológico e impulsividad; negativa baja (-,165**) entre bienestar psicológico e ideación suicida; y positiva baja (,263**) entre impulsividad e ideación suicida. A partir de lo cual se establece la presencia de relaciones inversamente proporcionales entre las variables de ideación suicida, incluida la impulsividad, y bienestar psicológico, lo que convierte a este en un factor protector en la dinámica del suicidio.es-ES
dc.descriptionAbstract: Suicide and suicidal ideation constitute a mental health problem that is linked to psych emotional factors such as impulsivity. The present study evaluates the levels of psychological well-being, impulsivity and suicidal ideation and analyzes the relationship between the variables. A basic, non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive and correlational cross-sectional study was carried out; There was a population of 437 adolescents from a public educational institution in the Cevallos-Tungurahua canton. The instruments used were the Juvenile Psychological Well-Being Scale (BIEPSJ), the Barrat Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11) and the Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale (SSI). The results obtained for the variables of impulsivity and suicidal ideation reflected low levels; while in the variable psychological well-being the levels found were medium and high. Regarding the correlations, a moderate negative influence (-.408**) was identified between psychological well-being and impulsivity; low negative (-.165**) between psychological well-being and suicidal ideation; and low positive (.263**) between impulsivity suicidal ideation. From which the presence of inversely proportional relationships between the variables of suicidal ideation, including impulsiveness, and psychological well-being is established, which makes it a protective factor in the dynamics of suicide.en-US
