Resumen
Deep Vein Thrombosis is a pathology with an annual incidence of approximately 1 to 2 episodes per thousand people, ranking third as a cause of cardiovascular mortality in developed countries. Annual cases are among the thousands, which can become complicated and cause an increase in morbidity and mortality rates worldwide. The study had a quantitative-descriptive cross-sectional approach; The sample was of 102 patients hospitalized in the clinical area of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during the Period January-May 2021. Data was collected from the hospital database and with the use of the Caprini scale. The transcription and análisis was done through the IBM SPSS version 28.0 program and the use of the Pearson's Chi-square tool. The most frequent age range was 40 to 60 years with 49% (n=50). The predominant sex was male with 51% (n=52). Of the clinical groups on the Caprini scale, 100% had at least one comorbidity, followed by immobilization with 89.22% (n=91). Patients at very high risk accounted for 69.6% (n=71) and those at high risk 25.5% (n=26). Finally, the most prevalent risk factor was prolonged immobilization. There is a significant relationship between age and the level of risk for deep vein thrombosis. The most prevalent factors in this population were comorbidities, immobilization and surgical intervention.
