Resumen
This document develops a Social Interest Housing (VIS) design project for the population living in poverty and extreme poverty in the city of Machala, province of El Oro, Ecuador. The design proposal must comply with the
aspects described in the Ecuadorian legal framework and the standards for design and construction, specialized in VIS. From their understanding, a table is created where the characteristics that encompass the formal, functional, technological and comfort solution are listed. Through which the case studies and the final proposal will be qualified. Another obligatory factor is the budget. The final cost of the proposal must be in accordance
with the purchasing power of future users and the subsidies provided by the government. Once the parameters that the house must meet are clear, two case studies are analyzed. The ADRY house of the Miracielo Urbanization at the local level and the model developed for Quinta Monroy in Chile, at the Latin American level. After the aforementioned research stages, the design process is developed. It begins with the analysis of the location, the approach of the functional program and the design strategies. With this data, the draft is generated where plans, elevations, sections, perspectives and construction details of the proposal are presented. Finally, a referential budget is made and the house is qualified according to the aspects marked as mandatory in the legal framework.
