La función de una prótesis total a largo plazo va disminuyendo debido a la reabsorción ósea que se produce en el maxilar y en la mandíbula. La falta de retención y estabilidad de una prótesis total especialmente en la mandíbula e el principal motivo para buscar una opción de tratamiento como lo es una sobredentadura. Presentamos un caso clínico, donde se procedió a la realización de la sobredentadura con anclaje de coronas telescópicas en tres dientes pilares anteriores en la mandíbula. Siendo la sobredentadura la mejor opción para el paciente por la estabilidad y retención alcanzadas y su bajo coste.the role of a conventional denture prosthesis declines in the long term due to the bone reabsorption that happens in the maxilla and the jaw. The retention and stability deficiency of a total prosthesis especially at the jaw ones is the main reason for seeking a treatment option like overdentures. Here we present a clinic case about the execution of an over denture with the anchorage of telescopic crowns over three jaw pillar teeth. The overdenture is the best patient choice. The reason is the stability and retention given and the low cost.
