The recognition of birdwatching sites within the Pangua canton and its surroundings such as: gardens, parks, remnants of vegetation and riverbanks allows the application of methods and techniques for the census of birds for their registration, systematization of the information collected and its translation into a descriptive guide. The work was carried out in a systematic way with the application of interviews and recognition of study sites that allow information to be obtained on the environmental and social situation of the canton. Consequently, the georeferencing of the site allowed the establishment of zoning in the upper and lower zones, each with two temporary observation points, for the collection of information on cards and photographs, in order to carry out the inventory and taxonomic classification of the birds. With the information collected and systematized, we obtained a record of 400 individuals divided into 47 species, 16 families, Thraupidae is the most numerous and 7 orders, being the Passeriform order the predominant one. In the record there are three migrant species and one vulnerable species (Chaetocercus bombus). In the results of Sorensen's similarity index between points, two comparisons have a low index and three comparisons have a high index. The Margalef diversity index was carried out by areas where the result has a high diversity in the two study sites. For the design of the guide, Adobe Photoshop software was used for photo editing and Adobe Indesing for design and layout. The research carried out for the development of the descriptive guide contributes to the knowledge of the state of conservation and mobility of the birds in the study site. Considering that the collection of information about the resources available in the different sites is fundamental for the planning and development of the tourist activity.El reconocimiento de sitios de avistamiento avifaunística dentro del cantón Pangua y sus alrededores como: jardines, parques, remanentes de vegetación y riveras fluviales permiten la aplicación de métodos y técnicas de censo de aves para su registro, sistematización de la información recolectada y plasmarla en una guía descriptiva. El desarrollo del trabajo se realizó de una manera sistemática con la aplicación de entrevistas y reconocimiento de sitios de estudio que permitan obtener información de la situación ambiental y social del cantón. Por consiguiente, la georreferenciación del sitio permitió establecer la zonificación en zona alta y zona baja cada una de ellas con dos puntos de observación temporales, para la recopilación de información en fichas y fotografías, con la finalidad de realizar el inventario y la clasificación taxonómica de las aves. Con la información recopilada y sistematizada se obtuvo el registro de 400 individuos divididos en 47especies, 16 familias, la Thraupidae es la más numerosa y 7 órdenes, siendo el orden Passeriforme el predominante, en el registro están tres especies migrantes y una especie en estado vulnerable (Chaetocercus bombus). En los resultados del índice de similitud de Sorensen realizado entre puntos, dos comparaciones tienen un índice bajo y tres comparaciones un índice alto. El índice de diversidad de Margalef se realizó por zonas donde el resultado tiene una alta diversidad en las dos zonas. Para el diseño de la guía se usó software de adobe Photoshop para edición de fotografías y software, Publisher para el diseño de la guía descriptiva de aves urbanas del cantón Pangua. El censo realizado para el desarrollo de la guía descriptiva, aporta en el conocimiento del estado de conservación y movilidad de avifauna del sitio de estudio. Considerando que el levantamiento de información de los recursos disponibles en los distintos sitios es fundamental para la planificación y desarrollo de la actividad turística.
