Resumen
El Commotio cordis o “Conmoción cardíaca” es una entidad cardíaca que se origina en una persona sana, luego de recibir un golpee o impacto en la región precordial del tórax. En esta entidad producto de diversos mecanismos se pueden originar diferentes arritmias, que pueden acompañarse de sintomatología variada, ocasionando en la mayor parte de los pacientes una muerte súbita cardíaca. Los primeros registros encontrados datan de principios del siglo XXVIII, pero en el transcurso del tiempo se han realizado variadas investigaciones y estudios experimentales que han aportado datos relevantes respecto a su fisiopatología, clínica y tratamiento. Se ha demostrado que se presenta con mayor frecuencia en varones jóvenes vinculados al deporte. No obstante, se han venido reportando episodios de personas fallecidas no vinculadas a práctica deportiva, producto de acciones violentas como asaltos y agresiones.Palabras clave: Commotio Cordis; muerte súbita cardíaca; paro cardíaco.
ABSTRACT
Commotio cordis, or "heart commotion," is a heart entity that originates in a healthy person after a blow or impact to the precordial region of the chest. In this entity, product of diverse mechanisms, different arrhythmias can be originated, which can be accompanied by varied symptomatology, caused in most of the patients a sudden cardiac death. The first records found date from the beginning of the 28th century, but over time various investigations and experimental studies have been carried out which have provided relevant data regarding its physiopathology, clinical and treatment. It has been shown that it occurs more frequently in young men linked to sport. However, episodes of deaths not related to sports have been reported, as a result of violent actions such as assaults and aggressions.Keywords: Commotio cordis; sudden cardiac death; cardiac arrest.
