ABSTRACT
According to the changes experienced in the Latin American during the early 21st century, it is pertinent to analyze the implications of decolonial thought on the terms culture and interculturality. The present article, from a hermeneutic approach and considering cultural studies, reflects on the terms culture, digital communication and interculturality, analyzed from the context of Chongón parish located in Ecuador. A non-experimental exploratory type methodology was used from a bibliographic review with grounded theory. First, the definition of culture was explored through an interdisciplinary analysis with an emphasis on anthropology to identify the repercussions that the meanings of the term culture have had on Latin America. Later, it is focused on the concepts: digital communication and interculturality. As partial conclusions, it is analyzed that the representations of digital communication from the dialogue between cultures (dynamics of interculturality) emerge as a critical mechanism for the rescue of ancient peoples and communities from the cultural hybridism provoked in the Chongón territory. Keywords: Cultural; digital communication; interculturality; cultural hybridism.
