Crowned Slaty Flycatcher Empidonomus aurantioatrocristatus is an austral migrant that winters in western Amazonia. In this note, I present the first record west of the Ecuadorian Andes. The individual observed was first-year by plumage, and this record correspond to an accidental occurrence due to date and location. Additionally, I discuss other out-of-range and out-of-season records of this species.El Mosquero Coronado Empidonomus aurantioatrocristatus es un migrante austral que pasa el invierno al oeste de la Amazonía. Presento el primer registro de esta especie al oeste de los Andes ecuatorianos. El individuo presentaba un plumaje de primer año y, dada la fecha y lugar de registro, corresponde a una presencia accidental. Además, discuto otros registros fuera de rango y temporada de esta especie.
