Seven unusual records of aquatic birds observed at Lago San Pablo, Northern Andes of Ecuador, are reported. Three species are boreal migrants that regularly occur along the Pacific coast, and four species are residents of the coastal or Amazonian lowlands. Even though all seven species have previously been reported in the Andean highlands, these observations are atypical, they increase species richness of Lago San Pablo, increase the biological value of the lake, and expand the distribution ranges of the focal species.Se reportan siete casos inusuales de aves acuáticas registradas en el lago San Pablo, Andes Norte de Ecuador. Tres son migratorias boreales que a su llegada ocupan el perfil costanero y cuatro son residentes de la Costa o Amazonía. Aunque las siete especies han sido reportadas previamente en el callejón interandino, estos registros son atípicos, aumentan la riqueza específica de San Pablo, incrementan el valor biológico del humedal y amplían la distribución de las especies.
