Resumen
One of the affected areas in Ecuador is the Tonchigüe parish, in the Atacames canton in the province of Esmeraldas, in which its boardwalk located in front of its beach is suffering great damage to its structure, generating concern among its inhabitants for its safety. possible destruction and later affectations to houses located in front of it.
The design of submerged walls in front of the boardwalk is based on its protection and the reduction of wave energy at the time of impact against the boardwalk. These walls will be installed on the beach and will be visible when the low-tide process occurs and little visibility when the high tide occurs in this area.
The composition of the submerged walls consists especially of high-resistance geotextiles to be able to withstand the force of the waves and guarantee a long useful life of the walls, they will be filled with fine material such as sand and covered with a woven geotextile so that at the time of having contact with water this material does not run off, thus obtaining a filter that will retain these particles, these will be implanted on a breakwater foundation to be able to control the differential settlements of the same, in addition a protection of geotextiles will be placed on the walls one meter breakwater between edges to protect the geotextile and help reduce the force of the waves, with this we will guarantee the correct functioning of the walls and protection of the area in danger of major damage.
