Resumen
The design for metal structures in our country is given by the NEC-SE-AC standards, as well as by NEC-SE-DS in which minimum criteria and requirements for analysis and design are gathered. Sometimes there are no certain requirements or criteria in the national standards for which American standards can be used, such as AISC 360-16 (Specification for Structural Steel Buildings), AISC 341-16 (Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings), AISC 358-16 (Prequalified Connections), ASCE 7-16 (Minimun Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures). The reason for studying this project is the evaluation of the connection base plate and column of hollow tubular section for both static and dynamic loads. It is important to emphasize that it will start based on the research project proposed by Pacheco (2022). For the static analysis, the stresses from the structural analysis have been used according to the type of column (corner, perimeter or central), while for the dynamic analysis each type of column has been subjected to a dynamic load cycle in a monotonic way that causes each element to generate efforts and that were evaluated to ensure the correct behavior of the connection. The acceptance criteria for a design methodology can be: I) By laboratory test under controlled conditions or II) Simulation in a finite element program that controls both the geometric characteristic, type of material, types of contacts, in other words, a correct mathematical model with the corresponding boundary conditions. For the evaluation of the connection, the finite element method was used by means of the ANSYS program.
