Resumen
This work aims to determine how the family climate affects the development of emotional intelligence in children aged 10 and 11 from an educational institution, based on the concept raised by Salovey and Mayer on Emotional Intelligence, with the support of contributions from Daniel Goleman. The sample for the investigation is made up of 20 parents and 20 students. The resources used in this work were Test Conociendo mis emociones by the Ps. César Ruiz Alva, validated with Peruvian Scale, for children and the Family Climate Scale (FES) as a self-assessment instrument for parents. It was found that the Family Climate affects the development of emotional intelligence; A low emotional level was also identified among the students, so it is imperative to design projects aimed at promoting warm family environments that promote optimal development of Emotional Intelligence among children.
