Resumen
The nursing care process is of vital importance as it allows health care professionals to provide the care needed by the patient to aid in early recovery through the activities and procedures to be performed. Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is defined as rupture of the ovular membranes before labor begins, while oligohydramnios is defined as low amniotic fluid in pregnancy. The aim of this case study is to elaborate the process of care in a 36-week pregnant woman with premature rupture of membranes and severe oligohydramnios. Premature rupture of membrane is one of the most frequent complications and one of the most controversial obstetric medical problems in its management; it negatively affects pregnancy and is associated with greater maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. It is based on Dorothea Orem's Theory, since this model proposes procedures that a nurse must carry out to guide self-care for pregnant women with problems and that compromise the life of the mother and the baby. It is based on Dorothea Orem's Theory, since this model proposes procedures that a nurse must carry out to guide self-care for pregnant women with problems and that compromise the life of the mother and the baby.
