Uso del maní forrajero (Arachis pintoi) en la alimentación de bovinos de leche

The purpose of this research is to analyze the benefits provided by the use of forage peanuts (Arachis pintoi) in the feeding of dairy cattle. The search for new food alternatives in cattle increases over the years, which is why some researchers have been tasked with conducting experiments including some types of forages to improve cattle performance. The use of legumes as a low-cost alternative to provide protein of high biological value is an attractive option in animal nutrition. This is why A. pintoi is considered an adaptable and high-quality forage source that could be a viable alternative to livestock systems in the tropics. This grass-related legume has shown great promise in terms of regenerative capacity during grazing and adequate meat and milk production in feeding systems using this legume. Forage peanuts are one of the legumes with the best quality and consumption by animals, since their protein content (16 to 20%) and minerals meet the requirements of livestock, with the exception of phosphorus. Arachis Pintoi improves the quality of the animals' diet, due to its high protein content. This stimulates the consumption of grass and improves the productive responses of the animals. Esta investigación tiene como finalidad analizar los beneficios que aporta el uso del maní forrajero (Arachis pintoi) en la alimentación de bovinos de leche. La búsqueda de nuevas alternativas alimenticias en el ganado bovino aumenta con el pasar de los años, es por esto que algunos investigadores se han visto en la tarea de realizar experimentos incluyendo algunos tipos de forrajes para mejorar el rendimiento de los bovinos. El uso de leguminosas como alternativa de bajo costo para aportar proteína de alto valor biológico es una opción atractiva en nutrición animal. Es por esto que el A. pintoi, se le considera como una fuente forrajera adaptable y de alta calidad, podría ser una alternativa viable a los sistemas ganaderos de los trópicos. Esta leguminosa relacionada con las gramíneas se ha mostrado muy prometedora en términos de capacidad regenerativa durante el pastoreo y producción adecuada de carne y leche en los sistemas de alimentación que utilizan esta leguminosa. El maní forrajero es una de las leguminosas de mejor calidad y consumo por los animales, pues su contenido de proteína (16 al 20 %) y minerales llena los requerimientos del ganado, con excepción del fósforo. El Arachis Pintoi mejora la calidad de la dieta de los animales, por su elevado contenido de proteína. Esto estimula el consumo de pasto y mejora las respuestas productivas de los animales.
