In the present case study, the limit of freedom of expression will be analyzed and if it is restricted or not in the country, mainly in the city of Babahoyo, it is for this reason that a type of descriptive and explanatory research is used, where will proceed to conduct interviews with two journalists from the local media, in order to know the reality of freedom of expression in the journalistic environment. Una vez realizadas las entrevistas se pudo conocer que la libertad de expresión, es un derecho intangible del ser humano, pero que se encuentra regulada para su expresión pública por la Ley Orgánica de Comunicación, lo que obliga a los comunicadores sociales y reporteros, a realizar una investigación de campo con la finalidad de recabar los hechos necesarios para poder publicar una noticia, pero que sucede si las fuentes no desean corroborar los hechos, o han sido limitados por entes reguladores o superiores con la finalidad de limitar la libre expresión, es justamente esta duda la que se plantea como interrogante para conocer e indagar si existe una verdadera libre expresión en el país y específicamente en el cantón.
