Objective: Research oriented to know the maternal role assumption in the sanitary emergency in the Cotopaxi International Educational Unit, as a result of COVID-19. Method: Based on a quantitative approach, carried out through surveys of the population involved in the research. Result: Through an analysis of the study objects, which show the multiplicity of maternal roles in the health emergency and the work overload that mothers have in dealing with COVID-19. There are social consequences generated by assuming various maternal roles, as well as feelings and emotions perceived by the interviewees, which vary depending on the situation they find themselves in. Conclusions: The assumption of the maternal role is affected due to the multiplicity of roles that exist in the health emergency generating overload in mothers which generates complications in the physical, family, social and mental dimensions.Objetivo: Investigación orientada en conocer la asunción del Rol Materno en la emergencia sanitaria en la Unidad Educativa “Internacional Cotopaxi” en Latacunga, a raíz del COVID-19. Método: Basado en un enfoque cuantitativo, realizado a través de encuestas en la población que han intervenido en la investigación. Resultado: Mediante un análisis de los objetos de estudio, los cuales, muestran la multiplicidad de roles maternos en la emergencia sanitaria y la sobrecarga de trabajo que tienen las madres de familia al hacer frente al COVID-19. Existen consecuencias sociales que genera el asumir varios roles maternos a su vez se identificó sentimientos y emociones percibidas por las personas entrevistadas siendo diversas dependiendo en la situación que se encuentren. Conclusiones: La asunción del rol materno se ve afectado debido a la multiplicidad de roles que existen en la emergencia sanitaria generando sobrecarga en las madres de familia lo cual genera complicaciones en las dimensiones físicas, familiares, sociales y mentales.
