Resumen
Allergic diseases is one of the most frequent pathologies in children, since their immune
system does not recognize the antigen and causes of this reaction, generating discomfort
for humans. It can be triggered by environmental or hereditary factors, the prevalent
allergic diseases that affect to the world population are asthma, rhinitis, sinusitis,
conjunctivitis, allergies to medicines, animals, food, insects, fungi, eczema and urticaria
which have been increasing in recent times, becoming a serious public health problem,
which are leaving strong economic consequences on the population. The objective of
the study is to analyze scientific evidence on the concentration of total IgE associated
with allergic diseases prevalent in children. The research of a documentary design with
a descriptive and exploratory nature, allow the selection of 110 articles published in the
years 2015-2022 related to the subject from a scientific database. Allergic diseases such
as asthma, rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, food allergy and dust mites represented a
prevalence of 50% worldwide, predominantly in children. The conditions of extreme
poverty in the development of population and the appearance of respiratory and allergic
diseases with predominance in males between the ages of 6-11 years. In children with
the presence of asthma, rhinitis or food allergy, IgE concentrations can be higher than
1000 Ul/ml, with notable symptoms, it is necessary to perform either blood or skin tests
with the implementation of different allergens in order to identify the allergies that
cause the reaction.
