The general objective of this study was to determine the violation of the right to liberty by the Cantonal Board for the Protection of Rights and the Multicompetent Judicial Units of Calvas Canton when granting protection measures. An analysis was made of the powers of the Cantonal Board and one of the Judicial Units of the Calvas Canton of the Province of Loja when granting relief measures. The results obtained through the case study allowed determining the violation of the right to liberty, as well as the excessive application of protection measures, the misuse of the Cantonal Boards and the Multicompetent Judicial Units and on the other hand, the excess of powers that a Cantonal Board has.El objetivo general del presente estudio fue determinar la vulneración al derecho a la libertad, por parte de la Junta Cantonal de Protección de derechos y las Unidades Judiciales Multicompetentes del Cantón Calvas al otorgar medidas de protección. Se realizó  un análisis de las facultades que tiene la Junta Cantonal y una de las Unidades Judiciales del Cantón Calvas de la Provincia de Loja al  momento de  conceder medidas de auxilio. Los resultados obtenidos a través del estudio de casos, permitieron determinar la vulneración del derecho a la libertad, sí como la aplicación excesiva de medidas de protección, el mal uso de las Juntas Cantonales y las Unidades Judiciales Multicompetentes y por otro lado el exceso de facultades que tiene una Junta Cantonal.
