dc.descriptionIn this text, we describe a classroom experience that intended to characterize the knowledge that sixth grade students of the San Lorenzo Rural Educational Institution have on the plants of the region. The focus of the experience was made taking into account certain aspects of the qualitative research, and the information was collected in folders and workshops written both individually and as a group. According to the analysis of experience, students' knowledge regarding plants can be organize into five categories: plant utilization, process of growing food plants, relationships with other living beings, types of fertilizers and diseases. The results of this work invite us to reflect on the importance of this type of knowledge for the teaching of the natural sciences, as well as to rethink and reconfigure alternative models more inclusive and contextual.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este texto se describe una experiencia de aula que tuvo por objetivo caracterizar el conocimiento que los estudiantes de grado sexto de la Institución Educativa Rural Departamental San Lorenzo tienen sobre las plantas de la región. El enfoque de la experiencia se hizo teniendo en cuenta aspectos de la investigación cualitativa, cuya información se recogió en carpetas y talleres escritos tanto de manera individual como grupal. Según el análisis que los autores hacen sobre la experiencia, el conocimiento que tienen los y las estudiantes sobre las plantas se puede organizar en cinco categorías: usos de las plantas, proceso de cultivo de plantas alimenticias, relaciones con otros seres vivos, tipos de abonos y enfermedades. Los resultados de este trabajo invitan a reflexionar sobre la importancia de este tipo de conocimientos para la enseñanza de las ciencias naturales y a repensar y reconfigurar modelos alternativos más incluyentes y contextuales.es-ES
