This article discusses the importance the blue color has had through history in different people and the magical aspects of its use. Finally it is intended to emphasize the protection of the environment and the incorporation of handmade processes to obtain natural dyes.En este artículo se analiza la importancia que ha tenido el color azul a través de la historia en diferentes pueblos y los aspectos simbólicos y mágicos de su uso. La búsqueda del pigmento azul en productos extraídos de la tierra, y en plantas de diferentes latitudes. Se detalla la forma de extraer el tinte de la planta Azul de Mata y su aplicación a productos artesanales y artísticos.
