dc.descriptionRESUMEN Miguel Ángel Troitiño Vinuesa (1947-2020) fue un talentoso analista territorial y una figura señera de la ciencia geográfica española. Su obra ha tenido una destacada resonancia en países latinoamericanos, ámbito en el que generosamente desarrolló actividades docentes e investigadoras. Leyendo el territorio: homenaje a Miguel Ángel Troitiño aglutina los frutos intelectuales de un conjunto de autores/as que respondieron entusiastamente a la convocatoria para sumarse al proyecto editorial y así fue posible compilar 78 capítulos organizados en cuatro temáticas: ciudad y ordenación urbana, territorio y desarrollo territorial, turismo, turismo y patrimonio. Además, el libro incluye un prólogo, una presentación y dos capítulos que glosan el contexto de origen y la trayectoria científica de Troitiño. Nuestro homenajeado destacó por la originalidad reflexiva a la hora de diseñar estrategias integradas de planificación y por su audacia para dotar de operatividad a los saberes territoriales, fue un pilar en la construcción de la geografía aplicada. Gracias a su rico e innovador legado es un faro que aporta claves para leer el territorio y propone entenderlo no como un mero soporte, sino como un recurso para el desarrollo sostenible. ABSTRACT Miguel Ángel Troitiño Vinuesa (1947-2020) was a talented territorial analyst and a leading figure in Spanish geographic science. His work has had an outstanding resonance in Latin American countries, an area in which he generously developed teaching and research activities. Reading the Territory: Tribute to Miguel Ángel Troitiño brings together the intellectual fruits of a group of authors who responded enthusiastically to the call to join the publishing project and thus it was possible to compile 78 chapters organized into four themes: city and urban planning, territory and territorial development, tourism, tourism and heritage. In addition, the book includes a prologue, a presentation and two chapters that gloss the context of origin and the scientific career of Troitiño. Our honoree stood out for his thoughtful originality when designing integrated planning strategies and for his audacity to make territorial knowledge operational, he was a pillar in the construction of applied geography. Thanks to its rich and innovative legacy, it is a beacon that provides keys to interpret the territory and proposes to understand it not as a mere support, but as a resource for sustainable development.
