This dissertation studies meaning emergence in language use through a particular system theory approach. The purpose of this study is to analyze the possibility of meaningful communication across areas whose language is defined operationally and very closely linked to a particular context. The dissertation achieves this goal by describing specific language realms through closely adhering to Luhmann's system theory. In doing so, what is additionally obtained is the elaboration and implementation of this system theoretical framework for enabling qualifications such as the possibility for cross-area epistemic communication.
