| dc.description | La historia del pensamiento filosófico latinoamericano de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX hacia el XX estuvo marcada primero por el auge de un positivismo sui géneris, y luego por una reacción no menos sui géneris ante él. Los positivistas se aproximaron a las diferentes tendencias filosóficas y al completamiento de la construcción de la modernidad con radicales críticas al capitalismo, y reconocimiento de lo justo del ideario socialista. Desempeñaron una función progresista en América Latina. La generación crítica del positivismo le reconoció sus aportes pero se identificó con otras tendencias y fue gestora de una forma superior de cultivar el humanismo que otorgó gran significación al momento estético de la creación humana. | |
| dc.description | The history of Latin-American philosophical thought in the second half of the 19th century, up until the 20th century, was marked, first, by the flourishing of sui generis positivism and, later on, by a no less sui generis reaction against it. Positivists approached different philosophical currents and the completion of the construction of modernity by means of radical critiques against capitalism and by recognizing the just demands of socialist ideology. They played a progressive role in Latin America. Critical writing about positivism recognized its contributions, but it identified with other currents and gave birth to a loftier approach to the practice of humanism, giving great importance to the aesthetic moment of human creation. | |
