dc.description.abstract | Regardless of size , to achieve their goals every company performs some basic functions : to develop product to sell , manage money to produce it and the profits obtained, and coordinate staff to perform their duties.
These four functions are known as functional areas or departments of the company, they are commonly known as Production , Marketing , Finance , and Human Resources, respectively. Many authors now are incorporating Logistics, and Systems as well. The number and magnitude of these areas and their names, and the number of people that integrates them vary according to the complexity and the specific characteristics of each company. Then these basic functions are analyzed. | |
