| dc.description | "El objetivo de este experimento fue determinar la pubertad de las cabras Criollas de la Regi on Lagunera nacidas en mayo y octubre. Esta investigacifin se efectufi en Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico (26°N y 103°O).
Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que la época de nacimiento influye sobre el inicio de la pubertad de las cabras Criollas de la Region Lagunera. Las hembras nacidas en mayo (GM) son rnas precoces que las nacidas en octubre (GO) (P < 0.0001). La fecha promedio del inicio de la activida ovarica del GM fue el 12 de diciembre de 1994 a una edad de 199.5 -I- 3. 1 dras ( 6.6 meses). En el GO, la pubertad inicio el dia 13 de octubre de 1996 a una edad de 349 4.6 dras (l 1 .6 meses). La diferencia de edades fue de 150 dias.
El peso vivo promedio al nacimiento fue mayor en e1 GM (3.3 0.1 kg) que en el GO ( 2.7 -I- 0.2 kg; P 0. 0 l ). Ex istio un efecto del tiempo sobre la evolucifiil del peso vivo de ambos grupos (P < 0.0001) y una interaccifin lote-tiempo (P < 0.0001), lo cual indica una evolucifin diferente de estas variables en ambos grupos durante e1 tiempo del experimento. En el GM, e1 peso vivo se incrementfi de 3.3 0.1 kg en mayo de 1994 a
24. 8 0.7 kg en diciembre del mismo año, cuando dio inicio la pubertad. En el GO, el peso se incrernentfi de 2.7 0.2 kg en octubre de 1995 a 31.7 -I- 1 .3 kg en octubre del siguiente año, cuando se inicifi la pubertad. El peso promedio al iniciarse la pubertad fue inferior en el GM que en el GO (P 0.0001). Los dos grupos tuvieron una diferente ganancia de peso diaria (GPD) durante este periodo (P < 0.0001), siendo de 12 1. 8 -1- 3.3
g en el GM y de 83.3 3.6 g en el GO. No existio ninguna correlacidn entre el peso al nacimiento y la GPD con la edad a la pubertad en e1 GM y el GO" | |

In GM, body weight increased from 3.3 0.1 kg in May 1994 to 24.8 + 0.7 kg in December of the same year, when puberty started. In GO, the body weight increased from 2.7 z 0.2 kg in October 1995 to 31.7 1.3 kg in October of next year, when puberty started. The mean body weight was lower at puberty in GM than in GO (P < 0.0001). The average daily gain (ADG) was different between groups (P <
0.0001). In GM this average was higher (121.8 + 3.3 g) than in GO (83.3 3.6 g). In both groups there was no correlation between body weight at birth and ADG with onset of puberty" | |
