| dc.description | This paper analyzes social perception of the installation of the Chicxulub wind farm in the municipalities of Ixil and Motul, in the state of Yucatán. A mixed research method was used. Quantitative data was obtained through questionnaires, and qualitative information through unstructured interviews. The results show negative responses by the population to the wind farm project, due to its distrust of the state and municipal authorities, and environmental policy regulating authorities, as well as the company that will develop the project. The article concludes that there is low acceptance of this project due to the perception of problems of inequality, discrimination, corruption and power relations in the implementation of Mexican energy policy, which has led the population to consider that transnational corporations exploit the vulnerability of ejido owners. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo analiza la percepción social en torno a la instalación del Parque Eólico Chicxulub en los municipios de Ixil y Motul, en el estado de Yucatán. Se consideró un método de investigación mixto. Se obtuvieron datos cuantitativos a través de cuestionarios, e información cualitativa a través de la aplicación de entrevistas no estructuradas. Los resultados muestran respuestas negativas por parte de la población hacia el proyecto del parque eólico, ya que existe desconfianza hacia las autoridades estatales, municipales, las instituciones reguladoras de la política ambiental, así como hacia la empresa que lo desarrollará, por lo que se concluye que existe baja aceptación hacia dicho proyecto debido a la percepción de que existen problemas de desigualdad, discriminación, corrupción y relaciones de poder en la aplicación de la política energética mexicana, lo cual ha llevado a la población a considerar que las empresas transnacionales se aprovechan de la vulnerabilidad de los ejidatarios. | es-ES |
